Internal Audit overall presentation

The Internal Audit team supports Euronext in achieving its objectives by providing independent, objective assurance and advisory services to help management evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

Euronext operates seven national regulated securities and derivatives markets in Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Lisbon, Milan, Oslo and Paris, a regulated derivatives market in Bergen, a leading fixed-income trading platform, MTS, as well as four central securities depositories (CSDs), a clearing house and services across Europe.

The Euronext Internal Audit Team is composed of 15 auditors located across Europe. The internal Audit function is pursuing its substantial transformation in order to adapt to the recent growth of Euronext. Euronext is strengthening its audit function by building a strong audit community as part of the matrix organization of the Euronext federal model. Internal Auditors are working both locally and across the geographical locations where Euronext is established. They are covering all group entities including Markets, CSDs and the Clearing House, as well as other group entities and support functions such as IT, Compliance, Risk etc.

We are looking for a Senior IT Internal Auditor to join our Paris offices.

Key Accountabilities

As Senior IT Internal Auditor you will:

Lead and supervise Audit assignments on the IT scope. The Senior IT Auditor conducts reviews of various IT systems and business processes to ensure compliance with group policies, laws and regulations and international standards of good practices. Through assignments and continuous monitoring activities, the Senior IT Auditor evaluates governance processes and the effectiveness of the organization’s risk management and internal control processes. This includes:

  • leading and managing the auditors on the assignment in all aspects of the assigned audit;

  • following a risk based approach and in conjunction with the Chief Audit Executive, developing and executing IT audit programs and testing procedures;

  • identifying discrepancies and provide recommendations for risk reduction and process improvements;

  • preparing and guaranteeing the quality of the formal Audit reports for distribution to management and the Audit Committee;

  • Contributing to Internal Audit's recommendation follow-up process and liaising with management on progress in implementing improvement and development items;

  • Supporting the annual risk assessment process and planning process of IT Internal Audit;

  • Ensuring that audit activities follow applicable standards and are documented in line with defined methodologies in the organisation's internal audit tool;

  • Contributing to Internal Audit's reporting and communication activities to relevant stakeholders;

  • Supporting continuous improvement efforts within the internal audit team and ad-hoc projects established to improve the capacities of the team;

The Senior IT Internal Auditor could also contributes to executing IT audit activities as a team member in collaboration with the other Senior members of the Group Internal IT Audit Team.

To support auditors in achieving their defined goals, Euronext sponsors their pursuit of relevant certifications and training necessary to provide them skills and tools they need to grow and succeed.

Profile and Skills

Experience & background

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, Information Technology or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of relevant IT and/or information security audit experience

  • Advanced understanding of IT governance, IT risk and internal control management and assessment processes.

  • Solid understanding of IT systems, including networks, databases, operating systems, and application controls.

  • Experience in evaluating controls related to COBIT, NIST, ITIL and ISO 27001 & 27002 standards.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Profile

  • Autonomous, rigorous and possesses excellent analytical skills

Your apprenticeship will take place within the Paris-based Fixed Income Markets team, which manages the regulated bond markets.

You will work under the direct supervision of the Product Manager. You will be involved in various ongoing projects relating to Euronext's offering in this asset class, the development of regulated markets, and the integration of Borsa Italiana's Fixed Income markets.

  • Data research and analysis (in conjunction with internal teams, in particular the Business Analytics and Finance Departments).

  • Support for market development and changes to our offering, in particular our pricing structure and market-making model on regulated markets.

  • Competitive and commercial intelligence on bond market players and other trading platforms - in a fast-changing ecosystem following the implementation of the new European MiFID II regulations.

Support for market management and development :

  • Participation in discussions on the evolution of our services.

  • Support for customer information (organization of customer meetings and road-shows; occasional participation in customer meetings and calls; management and updating of PowerPoint presentations and Excel summary tables; support and coordination with the marketing team).

  • Updating information on the Bond Markets website, and making suggestions for its development.

Support for activity monitoring and reporting :

  • Centralization of bond market data, data analysis and creation of reports using Power BI and Excel.

  • Managing requests from market makers and market members in collaboration with Market Surveillance (updating prospect and customer files).

  • Participation in the preparation of memos and reports on bond market activity.

At the end of this internship, the student will have acquired skills in the following areas :

  • Electronic trading: operation of an international stock exchange, activity of banks, brokers and institutional clients on the exchange, different market models and electronic platforms.

  • Bond markets and market infrastructures: trading, clearing and settlement.

  • Financial market regulation, in particular MiFID II.

Profile

  • 4/5 years' higher education (e.g. Finance/Business/Statistics/Economics/etc.).

  • Understanding and willingness to learn the structure of the Fixed Income spot market and its evolution from a commercial, competitive, regulatory and technological point of view.

  • Ability to analyze, synthesize and report, logical mind.

Key accountabilities
• Develop and implement IT audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risks and test objectives.
• Identify and assess IT-related risks and clearly communicate them to stakeholders.
• Document auditing work comprehensively in the audit tool in an accurate and timely manner and perform deep dive analysis, and assess the related risks and controls,
• Evaluate the systems established to ensure compliance with policies, plans, laws and regulations which could significantly impact the organization.
• Ensure audit conclusions are based on a complete understanding of the IT processes, circumstances, and risks
• Follow the implementation of published recommendation to make sure that adequate corrective actions are taken and that actions are effective in remediating the risk in a timely manner.
• Support in the performance of the annual Risk Assessment exercise and consequently in the development of a risk-based, current and relevant annual audit plan.

Your profile
• Experience in IT systems audit. Security, technology or data analysis experience highly desirable.

Risk & Compliance department overview

Within the Risk & Compliance department, a team of almost 50 talented professionals in Risk, BCM and Compliance, spread across our various geographies, is ensuring to preserve the value assets and reputation of the company. Identifying and assessing risks, implementing mitigation actions, informing and raising staff and business awareness, monitoring and ensuring compliance with the appropriate regulations are the core activities embedded in our team.

The teams, as all its key stakeholders, including local Boards, Regulators, are located in all Euronext entities (Paris, Porto, Milan, Oslo, New York, Dublin, Copenhagen…).

Your role as Compliance Officer

The compliance officer reports to Head of Compliance of Euronext Dublin. The role will be based either in Dublin or Paris.

He/She contributes to the success of the relevant compliance functions for Euronext Group.

Compliance responsibilities:

  • The compliance executive participates in Euronext group-wide efforts to implement, promote and mature the compliance culture of Euronext.

  • Contribute to core Compliance policies review and monitoring from a group wide perspective. Ensure applicability to local market.

  • Support groupwide risk analysis in relation to compliance risk and Client/Product risk in the execution of their risk analysis, including local requirements

  • Create awareness at the Group and local level of such policies and practices

  • Participate in Group initiatives and projects, as identified

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the local compliance monitoring program in line with the risk based Group approach and the requirements of the Regulator

  • Perform monitoring controls in line with this risk based approach and report to Group and Local management

  • Work closely with and maintain strong internal relationships with business units.

  • Support the local MLRO

Equities team:

Euronext operates an established listing and multi-asset trading business across 7 European markets, covering Paris, Milan, Brussels, Amsterdam, Dublin, Lisbon and Oslo. The Cash and Derivatives Business Unit manages trading service offer for cash equities, equity derivatives, warrants and certificates. 

As part of this department, the Equities team is continuously optimising the market offering, fine-tuning tariffs and developing innovative new products that enable Euronext to compete effectively in the constantly evolving European market landscape.

This team also has the opportunity to work closely with quant researchers to perform quantitative trading flow analysis of high frequency trading firms and brokers, translating data into opportunities to improve customer experience and financial markets’ quality.

The Equities team is tasked with the following missions :

  • Maximize the yield, market share and revenue of the Cash franchie

  • Management of all liquidity/market making programmes

  • Client relationship management with key stakeholders

  • Business and Product development to ensure Euronext remains a Pan-EU leader in terms of liquidity

The intern will be fully integrated in the Equities team.

The intern will work on key projects related to market making and liquidity provision aspects of the Cash franchise. These tasks are essential to develop and protect the quality of Euronext order books and client coverage.

The intern will have the following key priorities :

  • Monitoring of the activity on the performance and automatization of processes

  • Ability to process large amount of data to extract key insights to build analytical framework

  • Projects to produce daily/weekly/monthly reports of trading activities

  • Monitoring of financial KPIs of the franchise (volumes / yield / market share)

  • Interact with quant researchers to produce regular client reports, prepare internal and external reviews.

  • Be a source of new ideas to enhance Euronext’s product offering and market quality.

Your Profil

  • Excellent academic background. All majors welcome but hard sciences preferred (finance, computer science, math, statistics and related fields).

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; including effective troubleshooting in a fast paced, time critical environment.

  • Experience in Software development and coding skills: Python is required. (Knowledge of SQL,JAVA, C++ is a plus)

Role Summary

The Equities team is hiring a Junior Equity Sales Representative to drive revenue growth  by managing the existing client base.

As an Equities Sales Representative you will focus on equities sales, account management, and client relationship development. You will work closely together with the derivatives and post trade team across Benelux and German markets. You will be responsible for achieving sales targets and building strong client relationships.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Within the Primary Markets department, the Business Development team is the focal point for business intelligence and strategic projects for all Euronext listing venues.

  • You will be responsible for analyzing market trends, conducting equity and debt capital markets research, competitive benchmarking, drafting updates to senior management, and creating actionable business intelligence to support sales teams across Europe.

  • Taking part in the team's effort, you will also help bolster the team's research capacities by contributing to know-how and content on specific sectors and/or topics related to equity and debt capital markets.

  • As part of this European team, you will be involved in the launch and development of new services and initiatives for listed companies.

Profile

Key Responsibilities

In particular the person in this role will be in charge to:

  • Support the main Executive Account Managers in acting as unique operational contact entry point for all their assigned clients (Tier 1 & 2 Custodian Banks);
  • Manage all clients queries related Settlement, Custody and Fiscal topics on an effective way and within the agreed deadlines defined in the SLA;
  • Address all queries related topics not covered by the team to the right internal departments making sure that a proper answer is provided to the clients within the agreed deadlines defined in the SLA;
  • Track all queries received from the clients and the answers provided to them through our ticketing tool;

  • Prepare all the necessary documentation to support the Relationship Managers in the Service Reviews that will be conducted during the years with the clients;
  • Bring new ideas and concrete implement them during the year in terms of possible improvements in order to innovate current procedures and facilitate the day to day job.
